How to Play Boggle 3x3
Connect letters on the board to spell words. Each letter has to touch the next one either beside it, above it, below it, or diagonally. The longer your word, the more points you earn.
Every day you get a brand new board with a fresh set of words hidden inside. Some words are part of the official list and some are bonus words. Finding either one earns you points.
Each tile shows a small number in the corner. That tells you how many words still start with that letter. When a tile goes gray, all its words have been found.
If you get stuck, tap the lightbulb for a hint. It will show you the beginning of two words you have not found yet. You get up to 8 hints per game so use them wisely.
See the on the progress bar? That marks par, set at 40% of the words. Most players call it a day once they earn the , so anything beyond it is bragging rights.

Two and three letter words are your best friends
With only nine tiles on the board the long impressive words you might find on a 4x4 grid are rarely available. Lean into the short stuff. Words like QI, XI, AA, OX, and AX are completely valid and often hiding in plain sight. Getting comfortable with the shorter legal words makes a real difference on a board this small.
Map the board before you start typing
Before you submit anything spend a few seconds scanning every direction from each tile. Diagonal paths are easy to miss in the heat of the moment and they often connect letters that look disconnected at first glance. A quick mental map at the start saves you from overlooking words later.
Focus on common letter pairs
Look for combinations that generate lots of words: ST, TH, CH, SH, ER, and ED are all worth hunting. If you spot two of those letters sitting next to each other you can often build several words radiating outward from that pair in different directions.
Work outward from your highest value tiles
Uncommon letters like Q, X, Z, and J are worth finding words for even if those words are short. A two letter word using X scores the same as finding a four letter word using common letters. Do not leave any tile unused if you can help it.
